A Contemporary jewellery and object workshop with an online retail store representing a selection of Australian jewellery artists. Bridget's home studio is located in Lane Cove, surrounded by her productive permaculture garden, where visitors are invited to browse the cabinets of work. Alongside her exhibition practice and production of limited edition series of wearables, Bridget specialises in contemporary 'remakeries' and bespoke workshops to commemorate special occasions, such as making your own wedding rings.

“As an Australian Contemporary Artist, I believe in a truly connected, resilient, and sustainable creative community. My independent practice, advocacy work, exhibitions, support of other makers and community projects are unified by this vision. I believe in the power of creativity and its potential to express ourselves, connect with each other, to question, challenge and find new answers. The result? An abundant place for our future generations. A world where we create less but reap more. A place where surplus is felt through connection – not coveting – and a time where life is explored using creativity and creative thinking.

My professional practice is broad, encompassing jewellery design, installation and conceptual art. I’m also the Director of The Project Space and you can often find me running community-based projects. I’m passionate about permaculture and growing edible plants in the urban environment food and completed a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2013.

I’m often rethinking how I do things. Everything I’m redoing, remaking and recreating is supporting a world where I strive to reduce, reuse, repair, recreate, refurbish, recycle. If not, I’m keen to redesign it or remove it. All of the work I do, and want to do, moves toward a common goal and shared vision. The future world. A truly connected, resilient and sustainable creative community.” – Bridget Kennedy

Bespoke Commissions + Remakeries

One of the things I love to do  is refashion tired and broken jewellery into new heirlooms. It’s fun and means less gold’s dug out of our precious planet. Inherited jewellery is often stored, hidden from view, filled with the memory of loved ones but never worn because it’s not to our taste.

It’s such a waste to have these memories and materials locked away. I can help you use your existing gold and gemstones in a new way, creating new memories and meaning, including using old gold for wedding and engagement rings.

Whether you’ve got a design in mind or simply have some old jewellery hidden in storage, we can work together to create the perfect remakery. To give your old metals and gemstones new life, get in touch. I’d love to help out.

Testimonials

In my business, sustainability is more than being conscious of the environmental impact on our planet.
It’s a key concept that extends beyond my work and creative practice.
