ZOE JAY VENESS
“In my work I strive to encapsulate an understated beauty by exploring combinations of pattern and form with thin strips of paper. The process involves the calculation of measuring sequences for each strip and these sequences determine how the strips are folded. They need to be precisely calculated in order to achieve a successful outcome. A small scalpel blade is used to plot the measurements on the strips which are then woven on to stainless steel wire or cable.”
Zoe is an award winning artist whose work is held in many public and private collections including the Art Gallery of South Australia and Griffith Regional Art Gallery.
