B and C, spent a relaxing couple of hours making memories together creating their own wedding rings. Carving them out of wax, they were cast in 9ct gold. Making your wedding rings in wax and then having them cast, allows you to create some lovely textures, you can also have your fingerprints included in the ring design. Using the ancient lost wax casting method, a plaster mould is then made and the wax is melted out, leaving a hollow. This is then filled with molten gold. During the workshop I can provide a rough estimate of the gold cost by weighing the wax for you. I can then cleanup the casting, remove the sprue and filing and finish the interior of the band to a high polish, or you can come back for a second shorter workshop and complete this step yourself, using some of the jewellery machinery. B decided she wanted a green sapphire added to her ring as well. Gemstones can be added to the rings after the workshop.
