Bridget Kennedy’s ‘The Fallen’, a floor work that uses the ‘circling’ effect of a necklace, consisting of a ‘string’ of 48 of the 159 flora listed as extinct in Australia since white colonization, creating a blot on the landscape. Although made nearly 11 years ago, during an earlier Federal election, the work gently highlights current and now urgent environmental issues. Yet more coal and coal seam gas mines continue to form a blot on our landscape.
